Ben: As long as Mike can cover my main areas below that should suffice for now. Your site actions (i.e. secure, wet,
cover) are appropriate until we get more information from Mike.
Please keep me posted on the progress of the report. Should you have any questions you can contact me or Mark
Elliott.

I have requested the correct results for the correct project, and Mike will be on -site today from West Coast Safety
Consultants for this project to complete a comprehensive SST survey.
The site has been secured and shut down, all materials were wetted, and the roll -off is covered.
I have also notified the owner of the project as to the process. Thank you for speaking with Mike, Howie are head super
is meeting him at 4:15 (his first availability). Is there anything specifically you would like me to have him address while
there?

Ben: Please forward any sample results that are currently available for the structures that are under active renovation,
to include but not limited to:
1129 B, 1129 Garden Street. I spoke to Mike McGuire this morning to discuss the scope of the site so that we are all on
the same page. For compliance and health/exposure purposes, we will need characterization of the debris (inside and
outside i.e. dumpster), and any remaining suspect materials that still need to be removed from the buildings,
Thank you

Tim
I was on -site and met with the APCD rep on site.
We were already in process of sealing up the job site until all the sampling can be completed on this (new) project site.
We have hired West Coast Safety Consultants to handle the sampling at the Garden Street Wood buildings.
There was confusion on sample testing etc based upon the project sites and proximity.
The wood buildings are NOT the URM project that your email was referencing.
This is a completely separate project.
Typically when we start a project on a building of age we follow the guideline on the APCD web page "call an asbestos
laboratory for in-depth instructions on how to safely bring them a sample for analysis." When the samples are analyzed
we would hire an asbestos contractor for remediation if necessary or continue as normal under a negative finding,
historically.
Based upon your email today we are having the sampling done by Mike at West Coast safety Consultants (we were in
process on the "SST" per that email) and we will await his report on the wood buildings.
The 1125 Garden Street project that was discussed in the email exchange, and lead to some confusion, is a separate
URM project on a different property.
We were not working in that building.
All materials are remaining on site, and we are/have covered and enclosed the roll -off.
When we receive the results, we will then follow the appropriate steps for remediation and removal as necessary.

Ben: Yes please email or fax the report as soon as it is available in
order for the District to determine compliance with this project, and yes hold any clean up or hauling until then. As
noted in previous correspondence dated 5/2/13, a CAC or SST is required to conduct the asbestos inspection. If a CAC
did not prepare the inspection report, you will need to get one involved before you move forward.
Tim
Thank you for the email Ben. See my email below to Mr. Ridley for reference. As long as the sampling was completed
by a CAC (or SST) you should be fine. If not, a CAC will need to get involved in the inspection process.
Brian: Please refer to our web site for the notification and other pertinent information:
http://www.slocleanair.org/business/asbestos.php
An asbestos inspection by a Certified Asbestos Consultant is required prior to the start of any interior demolition. Due to
the high visibility of this location, I would recommend that you contact me once you have an asbestos report for review
of the findings. Asbestos Containing Materials will need to be removed by a licensed asbestos contractor prior to
disturbance.
Depending upon the type and amount of asbestos, a notification to the District may be required 10 working days prior to
asbestos removal. Please call me if you have any questions,

Dear Tim:
Samples went out and testing should be returned in a couple days on Garden Street URM retrofit and TI. The buildings
appear to have had some recent tenant improvements (last 20 years) and we found mostly modern building materials. I
selected 3 sample locations for testing.
I will forward the report when received. Any other thoughts/comments?
Thank you and best.

Good Afternoon Tim:
I have requested the hard copy report for you performed at Garden Street and will forward as soon as I have for
asbestos testing (we were negative on the samples).
Additionally after your meeting with Josh today on site we have collected three additional samples in your area of
concern and sent those today for testing overnight to Western Labs.
I have also halted the roll -off pick up as requested.
Thank You
