Yes, we'll start there. At the intersection of March and Higuera. Can you pull records from that
area...from Jan 8, 9,10.
Thank you! We truly appreciate your help!

I’ve been asked to see if you are able to narrow the focus on location. Pasted below is a map showing all of the creek
systems with their tributaries within the City Limits. Work was being done in multiple creeks throughout town during the
time frame you specified. My limited understanding of where flooding occurred is only from what I read in the Tribune
which indicated flooding below the intersection of Marsh and Higuera along San Luis Creek. Perhaps that is the area of
your focus? If you can identify a location I can certainly request that staff research records in all tributaries above your
specified location.
I am not able to predict how long it will take to retrieve any responsive files. The Public Records Act requires that we
respond with a determination that we either have records or don’t have records within 10-days. My experience is that staff
commonly is able to supply records in less than two weeks total. I will direct their search once I hear back from you.
Thank you,
Kevin

Thanks!

Elizabeth,
We just spoke on the phone. Can you narrow this down for me a bit by identifying which creek and or section of creek.
Perhaps ID it by street location or a google screen shot.
Thanks!

Hey there!
I am requesting public records for a work order for the creek on Jan. 9th. If you can also include any
work orders on Jan 8th and Jan 10th, that would be super helpful as well.

Thank you!

Thanks for those links and that informal log. What I need is a public works order. So, from 7-9am on
the creek, what happened? Something was "unclogged" for all of the water to drain away as fast as it
did. I'm looking for a public order on the creek from that time.
Also, if you have the informal log from the day before, the 8th, that might be helpful too.
Thank you!

Beth,
So far the only document that staff has supplied to me is an informal log of sorts (attached). There will be more records as
I requested documents from multiple staff sources. Staff asked that I link you to various flood and storm recovery related
documents that we have available on our website in case you had not already seen them.
Get Ready SLO | City of San Luis Obispo, CA (slocity.org)
Documents Online | City of San Luis Obispo, CA (slocity.org)
(see multiple documents that may be of interest under the headings of “Creek and Storm” and “FEMA Flood Zone
Documents.” Specifically, the linked called “Waterway Management Plan Documents” is what is followed for routine
maintenance of the creeks system.

I will be in further touch as more documents are supplied to me. Have a good evening!
