Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Hello, I'm emailing on behalf of the DSA SLO Housing Justice Committee. During our Renters! Know Your Rights! Canvassing campaign, we've knocked on hundreds of doors in the City of SLO and talked to many many people who live here. The renters of SLO are hurting, their rents are rising year after year and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. SLO has a shockingly low vacancy rate, leaving people looking for housing or wanting to move with few options. SLO needs density, it needs units where real working people and students can live. It needs apartments. SLO is a city, a destination, it's not a small town, we need to stop treating it like one. Additionally, I don't want to hear any talk about the parking spaces, we can deal with the parking once everyone is safely housed, we have a population that's in crisis, the constant whining about parking spaces is gross. -Julien Powell Co-Chair DSA SLO 1
