Subject: RE: CPRA
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing in response to your Public Records Act request made via email on February 13, 2023. Please see
my responses to the items you requested below for the “time period 1/1/2013-2/13/2023 for all former and
current Police Officer employed by SLOPD”.
1. Reports, investigations and findings related to an incident involving an officer’s discharge of a weapon
or use of force resulting in death or great bodily injury.
Incidents responsive to this request are under review by the City Attorney’s Office for any
exempt records prior to release. Due to the large volume of records to review, I will reach out to
you again within 14 days to advise you of our progress in reviewing these incidents.
2. Any record related to an incident in which sustained findings were made that an officer engaged in
sexual assault against a member of the public.
No responsive records
3. Any record related to an incident in which sustained findings were made that an officer was dishonest…
Please see the links to previously released responsive records below. There are no additional
responsive records to this request. In accordance with the provisions of California Penal Code
Sections 832.7(b)(4), and (7), California Government Codes Sections 7927.700 and 7922.000,
and the constitutional privacy interests of persons depicted in certain requested records and/or
that of their heirs and family members, the City has redacted confidential or otherwise exempt
information from the responsive records.
The City has tape recorded interviews which the City is not producing since each recording
contains confidential or otherwise exempt information that will be very difficult to redact.
However, each interview is summarized in the investigation reports that are being produced. If
you need copies of the actual tape recordings, it will take a significant amount of time and
expense to do the required redactions. Unless we are notified that you are requesting copies of
the recordings, copies of the actual recordings will not be produced.
