The lower level city staff really do not know how and are not allowed to respond to Dia's
questions without checking with their immediate superiors who ultimately must check with
Michael Codron and ultimately Derek Johnson and then Ms. Katie herself as they
constantly fear being exposed and then being taken out to the "Wood shed" oe even
loosing their job.
The current city management DOES NOT encourage either "honesty" nor "individual
thoughts" or fresh thinking outside of the "party line"
which continually reinforces the "BIG ROOSE" which is generate as much money as fast as
possible for the City of SLO to guarantee union driven pay raises and long term benefits
including that big pension when you've had enough of the city to avoid long term health
problems.

wow. i watched the city council on tuesday after i spoke to the public and went home
and finished watching the rest of the proceedings.
i am really confused. how can the city council even talk about a project that is going
to be built in the county? also, isn't that agricultural land, and why are we saying it is
ok? they haven't annexed this property into the city yet, have they? what law
requires and/or allows us to even address this situation.
who would be the residents that vote on this annexation? not only will this
development be in a floodplain but it would positively destroy LOVR traffic. we
cannot get down that roadway at all right now. 111 acres, are you kidding?
please let me know the laws that allowed that vote.
thank you, dia

I added "for further review", indicating that this is not approval of the project. What are your
thoughts on adding this:
"The Planning Commission's recommendation does not indicate approval of the project at this
time; this recommendation shows support for the initiation process, which would include
submittal of a formal application for further review including environmental analysis."

Thanks Shawna,
The report looks good. The only part I’m not understanding is the response to Katie’s
comment labeled KL2. I’m not seeing how this addresses her comment…
Therefore, the applicant is requesting and the Planning Commission is recommending
approval of the request to initiate a Specific Plan and General Plan Amendment
process to allow submittal of an application package including development of the
CCRC and residential land uses above the 150-foot elevation[KL1] for further review by

Hi Marcus,
I added a bit more today after my prior edits earlier this week. I also spoke with Katie about
it just now.
Also, so you know, I spoke with John Madonna and Vic Montgomery (separately) about
Neil’s letter yesterday and talked them through where I am coming from on this project.
John was pretty upset about it all. I encouraged them to reach out to Neil direct.
