Re: Villaggio aud the `i•oom Rauch Specific Plau
Thank you for the opportunity to "address" you. If possible, I would be at your upcoming
meeting to support Villaggio and the Froom Ranch Specific Plan. Instead I am writing to ask you
to approve Villaggio and the Froom Ranch Specific Plan, and let it go forward as soon as
possible. I am planning and hoping to move to Villaggio, as it is the only option to ensure my
future well-being, while allowing me to remain in SLO County. However, I am very concerned
about how long this will take. My most pressing need is to do whatever it takes to ensure that
my future is secure, no matter what my health might be. Villaggio is my only option in this
County.
I have heard that some say Villaggio is only for the rich. That is far from the truth. In many
cases, those who become Villaggio residents will have to sell their homes and/or be glad they
have Long Term Care Insurance.
I have lived in the Central Coast since 1994. Prior to that I was a Certified Professional in
Healthcare Quality in Southern California. I was employed by or acted as consultant to many
hospitals, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where I served as Manager of Medical Staff
Services.
I was fortunate enough to be able to move to the Central Coast to Cambria in 1994, at which
time I served as Director of Medical Staff Services at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.
After I "retired from healthcare quality" I was the Registrar at Leffingwell High School in
Cambria. It is a continuation high school where students from Coast Union High School can
transfer if it is determined that the comprehensive high school setting is not meeting their
needs towards achieving their goals to graduate and be productive citizens.
I moved to Arroyo Grande eight years ago. There is a group of women who are all on the
Villaggio list. I am one of them. I have been part of this group for only a year, but during that
time two members dropped out because they could not wait for Villaggio to come to fruition.
They had to move far away to become residents of existing Life Plan Communities, leaving their
beloved SLO County behind.

I have been a Hospice volunteer in SLO County for about fifteen years, first with Wilshire
Hospice and now with Dignity Hospice. I love my County and its opportunities and beauty and
people. I need to know my future is secure, no matter what my health might be. As you are
well aware, there is no Life Plan Community in our County. We desperately need Villaggio.
Please help us get there.
