T#erefare, I am writing to urge you to certify their final EIR, and ta move forward an annexing the land on which the praject will be built. Villaggia is a ery impartant project #hat will benefit bath the city and the many residents of the area who are approaching the need for a good, thre tiered retirement solution. My hustaand and I are Iong-time county residents. We lie an a small ranch on Adelaida Rd. in Paso and farm 30 ares af commercial winegrapes, selling tv the small bautique wineries of the area. We hae been active in the county, serving on several local, non-profit boards. We have a son and 4 grandchildren who also live, wark, and study in the ity. In short, we are members of yvur community. We are naw in aur 8s and need to plan fvr the next chapter in aur lives. This is our home, so we very much want to lie out our years here. That said, we need a 3 tier retirement faility, and curren#ly he nearest one is in 5anta Barbara—very distant fram 5LU family and friends. We are but two among hundreds ofounty ouples currently facing the same painful choice. And, as the populatian of the county grows and ages, the need for in-caunty facilities will only grvw, too. SLD needs this facility! We need it nvw! My husband and I are particularly interested in Villaggio because it will be the only facility in the county that offers quality independent living along side a range af assisted care optians on the same campus, enabling ouples requiring diffrent levels of care to stay clase ta one anather. It will alsa allow individuals ta transition fram one level af care to anather without giving up newly made friends and habits. Villaggio will be an asset to the ity, as well. It will expand SLD's tax base. Residents of Villaggia will be active patrons of city retail and services without demanding muh in the way of expensive city services. Perhaps more important, residents of Villaggio are als❑ likely to be strong patrans of the city's growing arts community, reliably attending perfvrmances and supporting lacal music, theater, and art arganizations. They will also be a source of active volunteers for the city's arious non-prafit ❑rganizations. In short, Villaggio will make the city a richer, better place. Villaggio deserves your suppork. Sincerely, John and Elizabeth Rolph 20260
