Dear Mayor Stewart and City Council,
As a resident and home owner in the Anholm Neighborhood, I enthusiastically encourage you to approve all staff
recommendations to build the North Chorro Neighborhood Greenway. My family with two children aged 7 & 5 are so
excited to get these infrastructure improvements to increase safety while walking and biking throughout our
neighborhood. We primarily commute to work through downtown and school to Pacheco by biking and walking and are
relying on these improvements to keep us safe.
I first started advocating for this project about 5 years ago with a letter to the editor on 2018‐02‐08 which I've attached
below. At the time I wrote this letter, my children were 2 years and 6 months old and are now attending Pacheco
without a safe route to school. I figured by the time they started attending school they would have a safe route but they
still do not. We recently did a practice commute to Pacheco on a Sunday (when there is low traffic) by biking along the
proposed greenway and it was incredibly scary. The people who say the existing setup is just fine have likely never
attempted to bike on it with a 5 year old. My feelings have not changed and my ask of you remains the same: "...we are
counting on the City Council to stay strong and make the right decision".
