Honorable Mayor Erica Stewart and Esteemed Council Members
Thank you for the opportunity to share some concerns for the North Chorro Greenway Project.
While I’m excited about a Greenway Project in my neighborhood, I think it’s important to choose the safest ,most cost
effective ,within the budget, least risk of decreasing property values and disruption.
Pedestrian safety is a critical aspect of our city, in fact we have more pedestrians than cyclists and this brings up serious
concerns about a Greenway Project that takes away funds from our Pedestrian Safety improvements and neglecting it
could have serious consequences for vulnerable road users.
It’s important to ensure sufficient resources are allocated to address the needs of all road users. Our goal should be to
create safe and accessible streets that promote sustainable transportation options and serves all members of our city.
Why does it make sense to keep the current Pedestrian Budgets?
We need to keep our pedestrian budget from being used for the Greenway Project for the safety and quality of life for
our community.
Sincerely,
Ginger and Richard Silva
207 Broad St
Resident of the project
