Dear Council members,
My name is Bob Conlen, and I am an enthusiastic bicyclist, living in Los Osos. I often ride into SLO via Foothill and North
Chorro Rd.
In 2020, I was hit by a car while cycling and after a 6 week hospital stay and left leg amputation, I now cycle with a
prosthetic leg.
I feel that the North Chorro Greenway project will make the route much safer, and encourage more people to use
bicycles to access downtown. Chorro is a major route into downtown and should be made as safe as possible for
bicyclists.
SLO has made great progress in bicycle infrastructure recently, with projects on Hiquera and Marsh Streets, among
others. The North Chorro project would add greatly to these accomplishments.
I respectfully ask that the Council support funding for the project.
