As residents of the Anholm district for 52 years, we are appalled that more than $6 million is to be spent on this divisive, unnecessary project when the city has financial problems. The projects that are being raided for this one impact the overwhelming majority of the citizens of San Luis as opposed to a small minority who ride bikes and yell and scream a lot. We no longer ride bikes but we do walk and it seems that more people walk than ride bikes. Sidewalks without cracks and tripping hazards would be welcome so keep the $100K in that fund along with the $141K in street light maintenance, the $100K in pedestrian crossing improvements and the $178+K in the California-Foothill railroad crossing fund. You may remember that when this project was first started there was never a consensus of support for it. 1
