Dear San Luis Obispo City Council Members,
I am a city of San Luis Obispo resident writing to express my support for the North Chorro Neighborhood Greenway.
Please approve the additional funding required to make it happen.
As someone who lives in the city of San Luis Obispo and nearby to the area in question (Highland Drive area), I
believe that we need improved and protected pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure. As the parent of a young child, it's
very important to me that we provide ways for children and all members of the community to move around safely. It's
horrible to see the increase in deaths of those walking and riding in SLO and the city council has the power to take steps
to prevent further tragedies from happening. The North Chorro Greenway will provide a much-needed safe and
accessible route for those who walk and bike, especially our children, and it will promote healthy and active living in our
community.
This project was approved five years ago with a thoughtful and well considered final design. Bringing positive change to
our community often involves changing our built environment, and the changes approved by this project would
significantly benefit our local community.
