The fact that you can choose any school you want to to send your kids to. But what’s not cool is when a small group of parents whose kids are going through a neighborhood decide that there should be a safer way to school. Now that group of parents have moved on, but here we are. Children having been going through this neighborhood forever, my own children and grandchildren ride bikes here. There have been NO recorded bike accidents. What happened to the data collected by camera on Chorro and Broad in June of 2022? Has it been looked at? How does it compare to bike usage from old studies? This might be something to look at before throwing more money at this. So much public input and many meetings where good suggestions were put into this. A small, powerful, and very organized group prevailed. We have a beautiful wide street on Lincoln with no traffic on it. Perfect safe street for bikes. Use it! Did I mention there have been no recorded bike incidents on Chorro? This is not a dangerous section, perhaps throw the money at Foothill where people have died. I know there’s a housing shortage, but when you take an old historic neighborhood with narrow streets and allow ADUs and additional bedrooms you have more residents. When you have more people you need more parking, not less. The neighbor hood needs more streetlights, friendlier curbs and big bikes painted down the center of the street. No need to go over budget on something that has worked for years. Please don’t try to fix something that isn’t broken. Thank you for your time, Best, Connie Bruton Sent from my iPad 1
