Hello SLO City Council, First off, I'd like to thank you for the hard work and service you are putting in for our wonderful town of San Luis Obispo. My wife and I have lived in SLO since 1996 and have lived at 221 Twin Ridge since 2001. Since 2021, we have been closely following the 841 Patricia project and the exceptions that the owners are seeking in building a bridge over the creek and riparian area. We would like to show support for the City Council to also deny the exceptions for the 841 Patricia project. I personally spoke about my worries about the project at the planning commission hearing in January. We are extremely worried about water flow, flooding and how that can impact the entire neighborhood as well as the vast wildlife that uses the corridor. My wife and I support the City Staff's findings and the 7-0 Planning commission vote to deny the exceptions that the applicants are seeking. I am aware of the potential litigation the owners are threatening against the City and am shocked that things have come to this point to appeal to the City Council. There are multiple scenarios that the owners could do to change their project to easily find space for an ADU (or multiple) on the primary building site without having to negatively affect 4,000 square feet of riparian area with a bridge. The City has specific setback rules in place for exactly this type of irresponsible building requests. We once again would like to state our support for the City council to deny the exception request for the 841 Patricia project. Thank you, Jud Clark 1
