Date of City Council Hearing: April 4, 2023 The Tiem Number: 6a. ARCH-0040-2021/ED-0547-2021 Dear City Council Members, As previously served City Commissioner for Cultural and Heritage commission, Architecture Review Commission, and Planning commission, I am an California registered Architect, and Landscape Architect, I am writing to support the development of the 841 Patricia Dr., San Luis Obispo for a single family residence design. As we all know the whole Ferini subdivision was approved while Ferini and Volny submitted to the City more than 30 years ago. Although this site is a sensitive site with steep slope and a creek cut through it, but the architect did a clever design by preserving the natural land form and possible wild life habitat. The little bridge to connect the other small habitable area is a reasonable design solution. The bridge is a part of landscape elements that enhance the lay of the land – Bridge has been used on numerous residential areas in San Luis Obispo. The house on 1773 Alrita St is a “bridge house”, built around 1970s, it still stands well today and are used by the original owner/builder John Stuart’s children. Today, we need more housing but with limited vacant lands; I do not think that we should abandon this land for Deers only - please support human’s needing of housing also. Your favorite vote would be most appreciated. Thank you.
