HomeMy WebLinkAbout338 Christina Way_NOVCity of San Luis Obispo, Public Utilities, 879 Morro Street, San Luis Obispo, CA, 93401-2710, 805.781.7215, slocity.org NOTICE OF VIOLATION (Courtesy Warning Prior to Issuance of Administrative Citation) Date: October 13, 2022 Case No. 10102022-17O Property: 338 Christina Way San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 To: Dear Property Owner, On October 10, 2022, City of San Luis Obispo staff noted the following violation(s) of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code (“SLOMC”) or other relevant codes at the property address listed above: 1. Failure to maintain private sewer lateral SLOMC §13.08.395(B): Ownership, Maintenance, and Repair of Private Sewer Laterals 1. The entire lateral, from the building connection up to and including the “wye” connection or other tie-in to the city-owned sewer main, shall fall within the owner’s responsibility for installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement. 2. Each property owner shall be responsible for maintenance and repair of their private sewer lateral in compliance with this section in a safe and sanitary condition, including: a. Private sewer laterals shall be free of displaced joints, breaks, offsets, structural defects, damage, open joints, missing portions of pipe, root intrusion, cracks, leaks, sediment deposits or any other similar conditions, defects or obstructions likely to cause or contribute to blockage of the private sewer lateral or the public sewer Corrective Action: Inspection of existing private sewer lateral Whenever the City has issued a Notice of Violation following a sanitary sewer overflow event from a property’s private lateral, the property owner must inspect and correct plumbing or drainage system deficiencies (SLOMC 13.08.395(C)). The City requires that the property owner also submit a Private Sewer Lateral Inspection Report to the City within thirty (30) days of the date of this Notice of Violation. The Private Sewer Lateral Inspection Report must include the criteria listed in the City’s Municipal Code §13.08.395(F). The completed report can be mailed to the following address: City of San Luis Obispo Attn: Environmental Programs 879 Morro Street San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 You must voluntarily correct the above noted Municipal code violation(s) no later than November 14, 2022 Failure to correct the violation(s) by the specified date will result in the issuance of an Administrative Citation requiring payment of administrative fines in accordance with SLOMC Chapter 1.24. For Municipal Code violations that remain uncorrected after issuance of an Administrative Citation, the City may seek enforcement by other civil or criminal remedies.
