If and when the two trees located on the proposed Parcel 1 are removed, the maintenance plan shall terminate. Preventing Debris Preventative maintenance is the most effective way to ensure that city sidewalks remain clear of debris from fruit bearing trees. • Educate tenants, employees and contractors on maintenance requirements. • Keep the trees property pruned. Spray the trees to inhibit fruit growth. Routine Work Routine work consists of inspection, scheduled pruning, and spraying during the growing season. These activities shall be performed at least annually. More frequency may be required during the year as needed. • Inspect the trees to insure overall health. Prune the trees annually in the spring by selectively thinning out the fruiting branches. • Apply an inhibiting spray or other approved alternative to the fruiting trees annually, mid -spring or 10 to 21 days after blooms appear, to prevent the production and dropping of fruit onto the City right-of-way. Minor Work Minor work consists of a variety of isolated or small-scale maintenance and work needed to address occasional issues. Clear downed limbs and debris after weather events or other occasional incidents. Maintaining City Sidewalk Clear of Debris City rights -of -way must be properly maintained and clear of debris so that they operate correctly and provide the function for which they were designed. Routine Work Routine work consists of inspection, scheduled clearing, and trash and debris pickups for city sidewalks in the city right-of-way. These activities shall be performed at least annually.
