Dear Councilmembers,
My opinion is that the Righetti Hill trail should remain a multi-use trail. Personally, I'll probably never use that trail. I live
on the opposite side of town. However, I know that a trail very near there is already a restricted, hiking only trail - Islay
Hill. People on that side of town should have a place to enjoy using other modes of transportation besides their
feet. You may say the trail is narrow - hardly! You may say it's too technical - NOT! This is one of the easiest trails to
navigate the city has created. Don't get me wrong, I love some of the city's hiking only trails. One of my favorites is the
Prospector trail in Irish Hill and once completed, the new Bog Thistle (also hiking only) will be a great addition. Oh wait, I
just listed two more hiking only trails in addition to Islay trail. I think there is another...hmmm...ah yes
Reservoir Canyon. You can see where I am going with this.
I just ask that before you limit a trail to a certain user group, you think about the population in the area around that 8th
mile, kid friendly, easy to access trail - perhaps families would love to utilize it for more than just a quick hike.
Thank you for all you do and for listening to me ramble,
