Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear SLO City Council, With the decision being made soon about the Righetti Hill Trail being open or closed to mountain bikers, I would like to voice my opinion as to why I think that this trail should be designated as a multi-use trail, and that mountain bikers should be able to use it. Like many members of our community, there are several reasons why I think that this trail should be open to mountain bikers: 1. There is plenty of room for all users on this trail. 2. There are currently hiking only trails (Islay) in this immediate area and no multi use trails on the Islay/Righetti side of town. 3. I do not agree that there will be conflict issues on this specific hill that are different than any other multi use trail in SLO. 4. This is a great .8 mile trail for beginning riders, specifically kids. 5. Although this is a short trail, it allows riders of all abilities and time constraints to get outside for a quick healthy dose of nature. 6. Many users will need to drive and park in the surrounding neighborhoods to access this trail (we already see this at the Islay trailhead). Forcing car trips goes against the city's climate action goals. Please vote in favor of this trail being open to mountain bikers, too. Thank you, Alex McClure cell: 805-458-5248 1
