Dear Mayor Stewart & City Council Members,
I'm writing to oppose preemptively making the Righetti Hill summit trail a hiking only trail. I believe this will create an
unnecessary conflict between people who hike and bike on this trail. Rather I support this being a multi-use trail and to
only convert it to a hiking only trail:
1. If it becomes a problem between people who hike and bike, and
2. When biking only or other multi-use trails are built in the area to provide trails for people who bike to use.
Because of the lack of multi-use trails on the Righetti side of town, there will be people that ride it regardless of the signs
posted. Making it hiking only will just create animosity toward people who bike and choose to not follow the signs due
to lack of biking trails in this part of town.
My 7 year old daughter is currently learning to mountain bike and multi-use trails provide a great opportunity to teach
her how to coexist with people who hike by always riding in control and always yielding to them.
Sincerely,
Jesse Englert
