Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Mayor Stewart and Council Members, I am writing to recommend keeping the Righetti Hill trail open to multiple user groups including hikers and cyclists. I hiked the Righetti hill trail yesterday morning with my son (2yr) and dogs to give an opinion of this space. Since 2011, I have volunteered designing and implementing a plan with the Ranger Service through 3CMB at the Eucs and have experience with multi-use, one way and single user group trail designations. I enjoy hiking with my family just the same as using our trails for mountain biking. The Righetti trail is well built, with only 2 corners with low visibility for 2 way use. Both these are designed with a control to slow down, either a stone bridge or a wall and tight corner up by the mine. The Ranger service did a great job with the layout, grade and thought of 2-way use. This design supports that both hikers and cyclists can use this trail at the same time. The trail has (will have) access from both sides of the neighborhood through multi-use paths. We are encouraging residents to make more trips by alternate methods than cars with multi-use paths. There are no other trails on this side of town for cyclists. Isaly is hike only designation. Do we not broadcast a mixed message by telling this neighborhood to get in a car to drive to Madonna, Johnson or Irish to go for a beginner bike ride? The trail is not long for bikes and likely only to have users from the immediate neighborhood. Thank you for considering my points about well built trail and the neighborhood's multi-use paths. I am very proud of our local government and I appreciate the ability to provide comments on the topic. Best Regards, Will King Resident since 2010 1 2
