Dear ATC members,
I live on Chorro between Mission & Meinecke and am writing to support staff recommendations for the planned
improvements in this area. I'm especially excited about the northbound Class II bike lane on Chorro. If there is any
interest in adding a southbound lane I will gladly offer up the on-street parking outside my house which I think could be
put to much better use than storing private vehicles.
My ask is that you consider adding speed mitigation measures to Chorro such as speed humps and/or speed tables. My
understanding is that the City can add speed humps at a fairly nominal cost during the resealing effort. Vehicle speeds
can be pretty fast going downhill between Murray and Mission on Chorro and between Mission and Mountain View on
Broad. My children will have to ride 1 block towards downtown on Chorro (a shared street in the southbound direction)
before getting to the protected cycle track starting at Mission and the speed that drivers currently take on Chorro makes
this section feel unsafe. Please consider some sort of speed mitigation for this area.
Sincerely,
Jesse Englert
