Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. July 11, 2023 Dear Mayor Stewart and Council Members: Thank you for the opportunity to share some concerns to Defer the Preferential Parking Permit District Program. We would like to express our strong support for the implementation of residential parking permits in our neighborhood now . The North Chorro bikeway and removal of parking places will impact all the streets involved and the surrounding side streets - the impact of those changes is yet to be seen. By not allowing us to secure a parking district will cause much frustration and also safety concerns for those that can not park near their home. Recently, there has been an increase in college rentals without parking accommodations made for them, and that has already impacted parking in our neighborhood. When the bikeway is in place , that effect will increase substantially. Please allow our neighborhood a fair opportunity as you have other neighborhoods when these same concerns happened to them. We kindly request that you support continuing the current residential parking permit process when discussing this matter. Thank you for your time and consideration. Yours sincerely, Julia and Scott Starkey Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they have shared and 1 the love they brought into our lives. ~ Author Unknown 2
