Dear Cultural Heritage Committee Members,
I am writing to provide my family’s support for CHC meeting 7/24/2023 agenda item 6a, 1220 Mill St
Rehabilitation (for the main dwelling, ADU, & garage). As homeowner’s that are currently going through a
similar property rehab only a few blocks away and nearing completion, we can relate with the work that needs
to be done at 1220 Mill St. With this well planned renovation work keeping the historic street-view charm, Mill
Street will re-gain another jewel that SLO residents are elated to see as they walk or drive by. This
construction will improve safety by bringing all internals to current day standards and enhance neighbors'
property values. Although nobody likes construction noise, the long term gains vastly outweigh the short term
costs of starting and seeing a project through such as this. This project is a win win win for the homeowners,
SLO resident neighbors, and the City as a whole. Please provide an affirmative recommendation for 1220 Mill
St rehab so that this important work can begin without further delay.
