Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. ________________________________ CHC: I’ve sent my objection to having 1202 Mill removed from the “historic” list. The property at 1220 Mill is no different. This property reminds me of how residents let their trees go to pot, then ask the city to allow for removal because the trees are in bad shape. Same with this property. The owner, who has been a slumlord for MANY years, has done no maintenance for years and has allowed this once-beautiful place to turn into an eyesore. So, should the owner then be rewarded by the city allowing them to “modernize” the building (make no mistake, what they have planned is not a sprucing-up, but a destruction of the beauty) so they can make more money off of it? And, should they be allowed to put a two-story building on the back of the property when you and I know that that building will be modern and a further gentrification of an area that is already going downhill because the City allowed the destruction on the southeast corner of Peach and Toro? Please deny this request and force this slumlord to fix up the property properly and return it to something about which we can all be proud, not another cookie-cutter residence of which we have WAY too many already.
