CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at noon. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: GlennaDeane Dovey, Matt Mackey, Pierre Rademaker, Ken Schwartz, Dodie Williams Staff Present: Audrey Hooper, Jonathan Lowell 3. OATHS OF OFFICE City Clerk Hooper administered the Oath of Office to all Committee members. 4. SELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR Moved by Member Schwartz, seconded by Member Williams to appoint Member Dovey as Committee Chair; passed by a 5:0 vote. Moved by Member Williams, seconded by Member Mackey to appoint Member Rademaker as Committee Vice Chair; 5:0 vote. 5. DISCUSSION - PLAN OF ACTION FOR REVIEW City Clerk Hooper distributed additional materials for the Committee's review. She noted that it is staff's goal to present Council with the Committee's recommendation at a meeting early in November. City Attorney Lowell reviewed a recap of issues raised by staff, Council members and citizens since the November 2004 election. During the ensuing discussion, the Committee requested that staff provide the following information for consideration at the next meeting: ELECTION CAMPAIGN REGULATIONS COMMITTEE a a A matrix comparing the State's reporting requirements with the City's (including filing deidlines, contribution/expenditure limits and reporting limits), Based on the CPl, a comparison of the dollar in 1971 (when the current limits were established) and today's dollar (i.e., comparing the $25 reporting limit, $100 contribution limit, advertising costs, etc.). A revised copy of the existing ordinance reflecting proposed language that would resolve a number of concerns raised in the recap that are either clerical in nature or bring the ordinance into compliance with State regulations.
