I understand that the Comment period is s?ll open regarding the safe parking proposal for the 1700 block of Palm Street,
which is adjacent to residen?al houses and to over one dozen hotels.
I am a neighbor and a parent and I strongly object to the use of this sec?on of Palm Street for safe parking.
Everyone is fully aware that many of our unhoused residents are more likely to have serious criminal records, untreated
mental illness, and/or be involved in narco?c use and sales. That increase the?s, serious and violent crimes, and drug
use and sales. We, as residents and parents, do not want our families to be put at risk with the Safe Parking Community.
Further, we have concerns on the impact to the hotel/businesses adjacent to the 1700 block of Palm Stree and the Cal
Poly Students.
In the past there has been a clear buffer between services for the homeless and residen?al neighborhoods, schools and
businesses. The buffer must con?nue to be a priority in order to protect our residen?al communi?es, children,
businesses and the economy.
Please pass my comments forward to any relevant par?es and keep me apprised of future comment periods and
hearings.
Thank you.
Angela McNulty
