Dear Mr. Bell,
I strongly object to closing the part of Palm street near the Veterans Memorial Building. Of all the places in San Luis
Obispo that could have been chosen for a "temporary Safe Parking program," this is by far the worst. Obviously, the
residents of the neighborhood will be negatively affected, but also events in the Veterans Building will suffer. Besides
that, the hotels, motels, and restaurants nearby will doubtlessly suffer negative consequences. This area is also the
"gateway" to Cal Poly, and students often walk there.
Surely there is another, more appropriate location for this program.
