Ms. Kyle Bell,
I am writing about my questions and concerns regarding the proposed safe parking on Palm Street and Grand Ave.
While I do think that providing safe parking can be important for transitioning the unhoused into better living conditions, I
feel that prior to creating the overnight safe parking program it should be discussed with the neighboring citizens. Why is
this scheduled for decision in just 4 days from now on August 14 and the surrounding neighborhood hasn't been informed
of this proposed program?
....Why was the program at the Railroad Square stopped? at The Kansas Ave ?
... What problems (e.g. increased noise, crime, illegal drug usage, litter, violence, etc.) have been experienced at other
safe parking sites in SLO ?
....If the overnight safe parking sites are safe and not a nuisance or a concern, then why not use the parking lot at
San Luis Obispo High School ?? it's location away from private houses which seems better.
