Dear Tree Committee,
Sorry the last message was brief, I wanted to get it to you by 5 pm.
The new owners have already drastically cut down many smaller trees in the front yard, seemingly to make parking
space for construction vehicles. There is much street parking available. Now they wish to remove 4 trees, including the
large oak next to the house. It's tragic to loose this tree, but even more so because they cut down a smaller, better
placed specimen. It was decently placed, far enough from the house, seemed healthy, and was well established. I did
1
not see evidence of permitting for the earlier removals, which I found disheartening, as clearly there are issues with
some of the larger trees on the property.
As we all know, SLO is experiencing a huge boom in ADUs. In this neighborhood it's rampant, and we seem to loose
large, established trees on every lot that is now overbuilt and overflowing with cars and students.
Must we continue to sacrifice our large established trees in favor of student housing? The neighborhood is impacted
enough without sacrificing greenery. And our environment is forever diminished every time a developer cuts down
another of our canopy trees!
Thank you,
Jill Hoskins

Hello
I would like to protest the removal of trees at 411 Graves St.
Do we need to loose all 4? Cannot the palm be saved and one of the elms be pruned?
The oak tree was much loved by the former owners and lots loss is a tragedy.
Thanks
Jill Hoskins
