Hello, my name is Delaney and I am a resident of San Luis Obispo. I am writing to make a public comment
regarding item number 1700 Palm Street (DIR-0378-2023), the review of the Safe Parking Program from the
Planning Commision meeting taking place on September 6th, 2023. I strongly urge the commission to adopt
the draft resolution. It is urgent that we help create safe places for those most at risk in our community. While
this is not a long term solution, it is necessary to help relieve some of the stress, fear, and anxieties of those
individuals and families who are without housing in our community. We must value the safety and dignity of
those in need in our community more than we value the fear from voices of privilege who may not approve of
this program. I strongly support this program and want to ensure a level of safety and security to those in my
community that this program would serve.
