The new point of location will be just south of the driveway entrance near Burger King (you can still see the fresh saw cut through the parking lot for the new location). The signs are up, the Site Supervisor Training has been completed. The site has been approved by DHS. The last remaining things to do are the cross connection test and service connection off of LOVR. The cross connection test will need to be done early in the morning to accommodate the tenants. Jon Williams (County EHS) is fine with that, so is Josh (the.site rep). Once the cross connection test is done, we will need to get the service connection installed (or before ... but not hooked up until test is completed). I have told Laguna that the City will pay for the service line. Rich and I have started a draft CRB for that work. It is in the Owner's Manual folder on the G:/ drive. The City is now beginning the process of connecting user sites to the system. In accordance with the conditions of our Master Reclamation Permit, I am submitting plans for the use of recycled water at the Laguna Village Shopping Center. This is a retrofit landscape use site. Laguna Village Shopping Center is located on Los Osos Valley Road at the intersection with Madonna Road. The shopping center is undergoing a landscape improvement project, and recycled water service is part of that effort. We anticipate recycled water deliveries beginning in May 2007. Details of the site's service are provided on the enclosed plans. In summary, the site will be using recycled water for irrigation of the landscaping on the parking islands, frontage landscaping, and decorative areas surrounding the shopping center. The center was constructed many years previously, and originally was developed by three separate owners. Shops in the center include a grocery store, drug store, and various restaurants. Outdoor drinking fountains are not located on the site, and therefore are not a concern for this proposed use. Outdoor eating areas are located in front of some restaurants in the center. However they are sufficiently removed from irrigation wind spray, and the center does not irrigate during the hours when customers would be present. There is one decorative fountain in the center, and it is served off of potable water. The center will not be converting the fountain to recycled water use. Irrigation will include drip and pop-up spray heads. Meters for recycled water systems will be located on the property frontage on Los Osos Valley Road. Currently, the center's meters are located on the property frontage along Madonna Road. The landscape meter in that location will be abandoned when recycled water service begins. There are no wells within 500 ft of the site. The site will be operated in full compliance with our Master Reclamation Permit and Title 22 requirements. Landscape construction and maintenance crews will be fully trained in upcoming EThe City of San Luis Obispo is committed to include the disabled in all of its services, programs and activities. ` Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (805) 781-7410 Site Supervisor classes on the proper use of recycled water prior to connecting to the system. A cross connection test will be performed by an AWWA certified cross -connection control specialist prior to recycled water use. If I do not hear from you in 30 days, I will assume this site is approved for recycled water use subject to the conditions of our Master Permit and Title 22. Please feel free to call me at (805) 781-7239 if you have any questions regarding this submittal or the project, or if you require any additional information.
