Subject: CAL POLY's Student Housing -South
Members of the SLO City Council,
I am emailing you to express my concern over the siting of the proposed Student Housing Project for CAL POLY.
In light of the recent tragedy at Isla Vista where some six students were killed, it would behoove each one of you to
rethink
your present position on this issue.
And, just for the record, as an American citizen and property owner in the City of San Luis Obispo, 1 wish to put you all on
notice
that you are setting the stage for another like incident should you NOT take the appropriate steps now, to do all that is in
your power
to hault this project.
Residence of the City of SAN LUIS OBISPO have been clear as has been many members of your own staff in pointing out
the
future 'pit- falls' should this project at the present proposed siting go forward.
Maintaining a buffer zone (the current parking lot) between the university's student living quarters and the City's single -
family residential
community, secondary schools, etc. is essential.
Follow your common sense and please send the correct message to CAL POLY,... NOT to build a student housing project
at this
location.
Regards,
George Adrian, Architect
