Use cau?on when deciding to open a?achments, click links, or respond. ________________________________ Dear City Officials and Homeless Assistance Team, While I agree that we need to address the homeless crisis, the parking lot at the SLO Naz Church on Flora Street is not the place to do it, nor do I want my neighborhood to be the guinea pig for the supposed “fixed” program. I will be at the mee?ng to listen, but in reading the ar?cle in The Tribune I s?ll see too many holes and issues. - This loca?on is far too entrenched in a neighborhood, 50 feet is too close, and now neighbors are pi?ed against each other in an already divisive ?me. - Your goal of 4-5 loca?ons is far too few. This doesn’t feel temporary to me, as they will be back every 3 months. - I have no doubt that the adjacent streets to the lot will be filled with other homeless vehicles, not ve?ed through your program. - Those trees in the parking lot are like ?nder boxes, and there is a high rate of fires in these parking programs, which could spread to homes. - I don’t want the smell of port-a-po?es and dumpsters wa?ing in the air. The wind carries directly into my backyard. The city declares: 8.22.020 Prohibited ac?vi?es declared a public nuisance. A. It is hereby declared to be unlawful and a public nuisance to cause or permit any persistent odors, which are offensive to individuals of normal sensi?vity and which adversely impact or unreasonably interfere with the use and enjoyment of property, to emanate across any parcel or property line. - There are several more concerns, that I’m sure will be addressed at the mee?ng. Thanks for listening. Concerned neighbor, Kim Spangle 1
