As we discussed, the private off-premises signs near the Calle Joaquin – Los Osos Valley Road intersection must be removed. Thank you for promising to comply by removing your signs today. The City has been lenient and understanding of the impact caused by the Calle Joaquin roadway construction re-routing project, however, the sign proliferation has now reached the point that the City must take action to have the private signs removed. The City’s signs, which display your business name as well as several others, will remain. Please be aware that the signage violation situation described above constitutes a public nuisance as defined by San Luis Obispo Municipal Code and appears to violate regulations including, but possibly not limited to, the following code sections: M.C. 15.40.300; Prohibited Signs; #I Signs in the Street Right–of–Way P.C. 556 Posting signs on public property Thank you for stating that you will comply with the sign ordinances. The other businesses displaying signs in the area of Calle Joaquin and Los Osos Valley Roadway have also promised to have their signs removed by February 22, 2008, to avoid further code enforcement action.
