Chairman,
Mr. Cecil Evans and John Badgley were unanimously elected Chairman
of the Centennial Committee and Secretary of the Centennial Committee

4 general discussion of ideas relative to a birthday celebration
followedt which may be summarized as follows:
Item 1 The celebration should not assume the character of a

years of progress.
Item 3 Service clubs and schools and each organization within
the city should be informed as soon as possible so that
everybody may make adequate preparations,

be a week -end affair with merchants closing stores
probably on Saturday afternoon,

as weather is concerned it was suggested that the last
week -end in May be considered.

Dear Dick:
Joe Baldini is in Phoenix for a couple of weeks so I am following
through on the poster panels advertising your City Ceateuaialx
By Railway Express, I am sending you a design in a miniature poster
panel for the approval of whatever committee is necessary. If
this design is satisfactory to you we can reproduce this for $47.18
a poster.
Joe said that Fitz was interested in obtaining a poster panel north
and one south of town in addition to the poster panel on city
property. I have received authorization from Miloagement to donate
two poster panels in the city in addition to the one which would be
posted on city property. The only cost to the City would be the
painting charge previously mentioned $47.18 a poster plus sales tax.
I aui shipping the design. in a miniature poster panel because I
believe it shows up better and also I thought that you sight want
to use this miniature poster panel in the City hall or some prominent
building in town as another mea,is of advertising the Centennial. I
will have the design covered with cellophane so it will not get
marred or covered with paint. It will only be necessary for you to
return the design, and when we are finished painting we will ship
It back to you. Joe 3aldini can then pica; up the miniature poster
pa::el some time after ::lay 20.
In shipping the design to us, may I suggest you use very heavy
cardboard to prevent it from !;ettiag bent.

If this design meets the Centennial Committee's approval, and the
paintiag caarge is satisfactory, all I need is a letter from you
authorizing us to paint these three posters. Because of tho shortage
of time, I wo,ild su„ggest that you get necessary approval on this and
ship it hac:t to us as soon as possible so we may post the copy the
latter part of April.
