Dear Sir:
Enclosed Is the tentative map of Tract No. 104
showing the manner in which I plan to cortr->1 the rainfall
runoff on the west and north areas of the Subdivision.
The area marked "reservoir" north of Lot 7,
Block E is to be filled with earth for reclamation and use
as future subdividable land.
As a temporary measure, I propose to construct
an earth ditch, as shown, and divert the runoff of approxi-
mately fifteen acres of grazing land to the existing creek
north of the Tract.
This temporary measure Is to be replaced in the
future by adequate drainage facilities as the future develop-
ment of this area requires.
Also, 1t is planned to construct a small earth
trench along the west line Of Blocks E, T, 6, and the north
line of B1ocIn6 and H to further safeguard against possible
additional runoff.
Respectfully,
CPP/dp /

mar Sir:
in regard to your proposed si..bdivia'on I an`somewhat roneerned
about your plan to divert natural drainage. As you know, the diversica
of drainage from its natural coursa. can in the evert of a changed
drainage pattern create a le al. liability on the person making the
diversion. four proposed plan-willrequira changes in drainage struc-
tures fr<A w;ai would be xeq.dred if no changes were ,Wade. Should
any part of ilii diversion woras for any reason fail, pausing an over-
load on any new ,tructse,. considerable damage can result for which
you would undoubtly be liable. uur problem is further complicated
by the fact that droinare desi.-n for the ad;oln'_na subdivision will
be definitely affected.
It is M; suggestion hat a very careful en, veer-ng; de -,=n be
prepared for your proposed diversion work and that you crovide a
concrete lLcd cannel to preclude the wssibility of failure with
cubsequert de -,ate to areas within our subdivision and the adjoining
subdivision. tie wall cooperate in ever, we,, in st.udy.'.nE- and review-
ing t;e design for your diversion work.
'very truly yours,
Mzk HA.L--
