Fitzpatrick, the City Clerk, in which he States that after convideraticm the Council denied our request for re- imbursement for the extra size water line installed by its on Flora Street. This action is quite surprising in that it indicates a complete lack of liaison or cooperation between the various departments of the City. The tenative map for the McAllen Heights Subdivision, approved on February 1. 1957, indicated a six inch water line on Flora Street, Fefore the final drawings were submitted, Mr. Price Thompson of the Water Department requested that this line be changed to an eight inch line and committed the City for the extra cast involved. With this Order from a supposedly responsible City Officer we changed the plans and submitted drawings showing the eight inch main and did not question the section of our contract with the City which states that the City would pay for any modification of the approved plans, We believe that this extra work was ordered by the City for the conveni- ence of future planning and had nothing to do with our Subdivision, therefor, we ask that the City Council reconsider our request for re- imbursement and approve payment to us in the amount of $2v3 IfT.00, :Very truly yours, Mi,1NO COIaSTRIrTION COMPANY Incorporated KIN y TCM/hw Q \a,�O ' T. Under the terms of our agreement with the City, the cost of such extra work is to be paid by the City, therefor, we are submitting to you an invoice in the amount of $2,346.00 to cover the extra. This price is determined by taking the difference in cost between 6" pipe and 8" pipe on the same project and multiplying it by the 1,150 feet of pipe involved.
