Dear Warren and Greg:
The recent announcement that the Performing Arts Center is to be named for a
single individual came as a great surprise to the entire City Council. Until
now, we have always participated as a full partner in the development of the PAC,
and I feel we have been left out of the decision -making process in this most
important element --the naming of the PAC. I feel strongly that the community
does not support naming the center for a single individual. If this decision is
not reconsidered, I'm afraid it will impact future community support. Personally,
I find it difficult to support underwriting a $1,000,000 loan for completion of
the PAC until this controversy is resolved and an appropriate name for the PAC
is agreed upon by all three partners.
For the best interest of the Performing Arts Center I urge both you and the
Foundation to reconsider your recommendation.
Sincerely,
Bill Roalman
