I am gathering data statewide on facilities that will be covered by SB 740 (Cortese), which was recently signed into law. It
covers facilities that manufacture chemicals that are monitored by CalARP. I am hoping to see if I can get a list or get some
help in locating the facilities that are in San Luis Obispo that SLO City FD covers.
SB 740 applies to the owner/operator of a stationary source that is a required to file a risk management plan (RMP) as part
of the State’s accidental release prevention program, if the stationary source is engaged in any of the following activities for
commercial purposes:
-Hydrogen manufacturing
-Biofuels manufacturing
-Carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and sequestration in either saline or depleted oil and gas reservoirs, or oil and gas reservoirs
used for CO2-enhanced oil recovery.
-Manufacturing of any of the following chemicals, whether as an intermediary or an end product: ammonia, chlorine,
hydrogen fluoride, sulfur dioxide, or hydrogen chloride.

agency and shall promptly notify the person making the request of the determination and the reasons therefore. In
unusual circumstances, the time limit prescribed in this section may be extended by written notice by the head of the
agency or his or her designee to the person making the request, setting forth the reasons for the extension and the date
on which a determination is expected to be dispatched. No notice shall specify a date that would result in an extension
for more than 14 days. Pursuant California Government Code Section 6254 (c) Personnel, medical, or similar files, the
disclosure of which would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy \[are exempt from disclosure\].
With the exception of certain records, report photocopies are 40¢ per page. If you need assistance with this request or
