I have copied our City Clerk's office so your communication can be included in the agenda correspondence for the November 7th meeting. The Council will be discussing parking at that meeting. Lack of on street parking, removal of parking lots, loss of free first 60/90 minutes parking, and challenging pay stations in the parking structures ( example: during a recent Farmer's Market we were 5th and 6thin a line of 12 attempting to utilize the parking kiosk. Each person before us, as well as ourselves had trouble/frustration with the system. All following us were anticipating issues due to the frustrations observed before them) have made us decide that we will avoid doing future business in the downtown area. We will, instead, frequent those communities that are more shopper and employee friendly with parking. We know that we are not the only ones making this choice due to the decisions that your council has made. It is hoped that your council will rethink parking fees and parking systems now in place, to encourage both shoppers and employees to chose to spend time in downtown. Sincerely, Laurie Wright Former resident of SanLuis Obispo, business owner in San Luis Obispo, and current resident of Los Osos. 1 2
