Hello, neighbors! The City has asked for the patience of businesses as construction gets underway near the Cultural Arts
District Parking Structure. And, of course, disruption is to be expected. However, it is my belief that how this is being
handled is negatively affecting Museum staff, guests and our ability to serve the community.

The Children's Museum's board of directors will be addressing this further in a detailed letter to the council, with
particular emphasis on the work we do to encourage low-income visitors, only to have them discover parking costs are a
financial barrier. Additionally, within just a block of the Museum you will find metered street parking, kiosk street
parking, a hybrid public/private lot, a private lot, a city lot, and residential district parking, which is understandable
causing a great deal of confusion and leading to the ticketing of our visitors.
Thank you for your time.
