Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. ________________________________ We used to go to Big Sky once a month or so, but stopped because of parking complexities. We mostly figured those out but we’re out of the habit and now Big Sky is closed. We used to go to a downtown movie and then dinner once a month or so. Parking makes that unlikely. We can go to a movie (or stream it) and eat elsewhere. A couple of weeks ago we had dinner downtown followed by the Rep with a parking bill of $12.00, which we could afford but which tainted the experience, so we will try to avoid. Street parking away from the curb in some blocks and not in others makes sense for a bike lane, but breaks up the continuity of a fluid downtown. The article in the Tribune didn’t address the extent of relationship between parking and downtown-store vacancies. The vacancies create a sense of decay, reminding us of State Street in Santa Barbara. I wish I had ideas to make it ok. I haven’t written before because I assumed you had figured this out before making the changes, and that they just didn’t work for us. Apparently we aren’t the only ones affected. 1
