Born and raised in SLO my father was the first city attorney in the ‘60s. I now live in Templeton but I still come
to SLO several times a month to shop, hike and have appointments. Since the parking fee went up all my
grown family members discuss how we all avoid downtown SLO now. We never go to any of the shops or
restaurants. Finding a parking spot was always difficult and just took patience and since I am from the city I
knew the tricks. But now none of us ever bother. It is so sad. SLO has such a beautiful downtown and you
want to make it easy and inviting for everyone get to the businesses. We now Just go to the businesses on the
outskirts. After surviving the last few difficult years don’t make more businesses close. Please find another way
fast.
Even as a Templeton resident we do business in Templeton first and Atascadero next and Paso last because
downtown Paso is such a pain to park. Parking is such a high priority when it comes to deciding where to shop.
And I like to walk! I guess I think of it more as charging people to come to my home.
Thank you for listening!
