City Council Members,
Along with my local friends and neighbors, I am extremely concerned about the impact that the recently
implemented downtown parking system is having.
Until recently, I was shopping and dining 2-3 times per week on average in downtown SLO. Since this new
system was implemented, myself and an innumerable amount of other locals are no longer or rarely
shopping and dining in downtown SLO.
A return to the simpler “pay at the meter” and “pay as you leave” garages would be an immediate way to
attract patrons back to downtown.
Please act swiftly, damage control is needed asap! We downtown patrons are quick to develop new habits
and it has already begun.
