When the police officer (on a motorcycle) approached me, I explained that I was about to leave. I explained that I just had picked up my brother. While parked I never left the car. I was parked approximately for 5 minutes. Despite this, he insisted on issuing the ticket. He told me “Don’t take this personally “ ????? What's more upsetting for me is that the ticket had a $40 option, but he chose to give me a $70 one! The worst part of all this is that my brother was visiting me from Mexico. He already had the impression that police in the U.S. mistreat Mexican people, and this incident happened during his visit ???? Parking in SLO is absurd! Please do something, we want to support local businesses but adding $3 for a 10 minute errand is too much for us. We recently visited Carmel and Monterrey, where they offer 2 hours of free parking. We ate and shopped without feeling worried about getting a ticket. Thank you for your time. Claudia Cabrera Olsen (805) 235-0698 Sent from my iPhone 1
