Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Mayor and council members - I moved to this town 2 years ago in hopes of running a successful business on Higuera st. Needless to say, it has been more than challenging to stay afloat in the current economic conditions, but now I question whether I moved to the right city given the decisions it's been making. For the first year I saw un-used parklets on Higuera st and other parts of downtown that signified that the city did not care neither about people trying to find parking, nor about its own revenue. And now all of a sudden we have to pay the high price for a ridiculous mis-management of the parking policies. Another example of the mismanagement - people don't pay for parking in Palm garage since it switched to the gateless system. None of the parking structures charge for parking past 10 pm - because there is no staff on site. There are other ways to make money than charging 4$ per hour! When you finally build your super expensive parking structure, there will be nothing to see in downtown SLO. Half of the businesses are closed already, and another half will follow if nothing changes. PLEASE FIX THIS. You are ruining the downtown and destroying the small business climate. Miya Luce 1
