I want to express my support for paid parking in downtown.
I recently moved here from Salt Lake City where I was on the Transportation Advisory Board, so I am aware of
the balance required to maintain available parking for those driving to town (and businesses), while also not
subsidizing one mode of transport over other cleaner modes like walking, transit and biking. Please don’t
backtrack too far so that the vibrant urban goals of SLO are sacrificed for a vocal subset.
My partner and I moved here in part for the bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and also plan to enjoy transit.
Encouraging more automobile traffic will only hurt those outcomes. thanks
