Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear City Council I am at a loss as to what to say to a group of people that I feel care so little about Downtown San Luis Obispo or frankly the people that live here. This is frankly the first time in 69 years that I felt unwelcomed, pushed out and not cared for by my hometown. I no longer feel welcomed or frankly safe shopping downtown. The streets are dirty, the unhoused are at times aggressive and the parking is expensive, difficult and honestly ridiculous. The cost of $4 per hour for meters, $3 per hour for garage is ridiculously expensive. I was in Carmel and you get two free hours of street parking. Not here though. Carmel wants people to come and shop, dine and spend money! The lack of free hour parking in garages is a huge loss, the system to sign up for that local free hour is mind boggling and you still need to man the structure because people can't figure it out. Please listen to the local Downtown businesses and do something before you completely destroy our beautiful city. Lower the fees, go back to first hour free in garage, reduce the hours of required paid parking to 9 to 6 to help our local restaurants. Thank you Sincerely Leslie Baumberger 1
