Good Afternoon,
My name is Lucia Stone and I am a City of SLO local from elementary school, through Cal Poly, to now (42 years old). I
am writing you regarding the outrageous parking meter prices of downtown. I realize this was meant to cover the
budget deficit of the City, replenish pandemic revenue losses, etc. However, it is a fiscally short-cited move.
The City of SLO needs the economic vitality of downtown to thrive. By creating such a high surcharge in parking fees, it
deters tourism, Cal Poly student spending, and locals from even venturing to downtown establishments... Simply put, ITS
NOT SUSTAINABLE. It is crippling doentown business owners. It is your fiduciary responsibility to do better. Please
protect our local economy and find long-term, meaningful solutions rather than a Band-Aid approach.
Thanks,
Lucia Stone
